Additional Input Regarding SCSD #1 Trustee District Boundaries

At its regularly scheduled meeting on April 12th, 2012, the SCSD #1 Board of Trustees took no action regarding the proposed changes to the district trustee boundary lines.   Board member Doris Woodbury volunteered to chair a committee to take additional input regarding this issue.  A focus group comprised of the community members who spoke or provided written input at the board meeting on April 12th has been invited to a meeting on April 26th at 5:30 PM in the board room to provide input to Mrs. Woodbury.  Mrs. Woodbury will make a recommendation to the SCSD #1 Board of Trustees at the regularly scheduled board meeting on May 10th, 2012 regarding the next steps to be taken.   The tentative agenda for the committee meeting is below:

  1. Introduction and Ground Rules. (Woodbury)
  2. Redistricting requirements, constraints, current efforts and process to date. (Harnack)
  3. Short Term – Plan to move forward for this year’s election:  Identify viable options. (Woodbury)
  4. Long Term – Plan/information of committee to evaluate redistricting options for 2014 elections. (Woodbury)
  5. Written comments on improving the process for redistricting. (Woodbury)
