Free Dental Screening and Fluoride Treatment for K-5 Students

On November 18th, Pinedale Elementary will be working in conjunction with the Wyoming Department of Health to provide a free dental screening and/or fluoride treatment to students in grades K-5.

The dental screening will be conducted by registered hygienists under the supervision of a dentist.  Students will receive a free toothbrush and a card to take home that will tell parents about the health of their child’s teeth.

The fluoride treatment is a topical fluoride varnish applied directly to the teeth.  Topical fluoride strengthens the outer layer of the tooth called enamel.   Research shows that participating in a topical fluoride application program can reduce decay by 35%-50%.

Both the dental screening and the fluoride application program are free and strictly voluntary.  Your child will need a signed consent form for each program.  The consent forms will be sent home with your student.  They are also available below and on the Pinedale Elementary School website.

Our thanks to the Wyoming Department of Health for helping Sublette County School District #1 promote brighter smiles, fewer cavities and more days in school!
