I know there was a lot going on this past weekend in Pinedale, but if you didn’t get a chance to attend the Million Minutes Reading Celebration at the PAC you really missed a great time. This past year, our students read over 1.3 million minutes so we certainly had reason to celebrate; and celebrate we did. There was great food, great prizes and of course great books and authors. Encana, QEP, and BP all donated money towards the prizes which included twenty Kindles and an iPad. Encana employees brought a great grill setup and cooked food provided by the Town of Pinedale and the Sublette County Library. Authors Andy Nelson, Ann Noble, Brandon Mull, and Ken Thomasma were there to sign copies of their books. A Reader’s theater featured celebrity readers and their favorite books. And for the kids and the kid inside all of us, there were some really great inflatables (the Pirates Cove was awesome)! Over eighty families took part in the Family Literacy Contest and countless others enjoyed the face painting and miniature golf.
I can’t say enough good things about all of the time and efforts given by the various individuals and organizations that came together to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and their families. Thanks, and I can’t wait until next year!
