3A Regional Track Meet

This past weekend, Pinedale High School hosted the 3A Regional Track Meet.  If you didn’t get a chance to attend, you missed seeing some really great performances and the best weather so far this spring.  The other thing you missed was an exceptionally organized event.  I can’t tell you how many people stopped me to compliment on our facilities and how smoothly things went.  Running a track meet of that size is no small feat and PHS Assistant Principal / Athletic Director Jeff Makelky did an amazing job.  Equally amazing is the number of people that volunteered their time and energy to make this event the success that it was.  Meets of this size require timers, exchange zone judges, hurdle crews, announcers, hospitality room workers, field event judges, and a slew of other workers.  It was fun to see so many students, parents and community members involved.  A great many thanks to everyone who was involved and best wishes to our PHS track athletes who qualified for the state meet.

I couldn’t agree more. Hopefully, the exposure to our facilities will entice more teams to attend the Mountain Man meet in the future. Go Wranglers!!!

Great job Jeff and all the helpers. And thank you, Jay, for the great blog you have. Keep up the good work–even if you are a Fighting Illini.
